Important: Aeration is essential

Before using Pond Algaefix, make sure your pond has vigorous aeration, such as a fountain, waterfall or aeration device.

As algae dies and breaks down, oxygen levels in the water can fall. This can be particularly dangerous for fish during warm weather, when pond water naturally holds less oxygen.

During warm weather and high water temperatures, 24-hour vigorous aeration is required throughout treatment. Do not switch off pond pumps or aeration devices overnight.

How to use API Pond Algaefix

First, determine the volume of your pond accurately so you can dose correctly. Do not overdose.

Add:

5mL per 190L (50 US gallons) of pond water
or
60mL per 2,275L (600 US gallons)

Add the treatment near a pump outflow, waterfall or aeration device so it mixes thoroughly with the pond water. Alternatively, mix it in a bucket of pond water and distribute it evenly around the pond.

Repeat the dose every 3 days until the algae is controlled.

Be prepared to remove dead algae by siphoning or other suitable pond maintenance. Once algae is under control, use one dose per week to help maintain control and reduce future algae growth.
