Struggling with green water or cloudy aquarium water? The Green Killing Machine 9W makes tackling green water simple, with a compact internal UV filter and built-in powerhead that can be placed directly inside your aquarium.

Designed for aquariums up to 200L, the Green Killing Machine uses UV technology to help eliminate green water and reduce unwanted microorganisms in the water. The compact design can also be positioned behind plants or ornaments, keeping the unit discreet while it works.

There's no need for external pipes, hoses or complicated plumbing. Simply submerge the unit, secure it with the suction cups and let the built-in pump circulate water through the UV system.

What is a UV filter used for?

A UV filter uses ultraviolet light to help control free-floating microorganisms and algae in aquarium water. The Green Killing Machine is particularly useful for green water, where suspended algae can turn an aquarium noticeably green.

It can also help improve water clarity by reducing organisms that are passing through the UV chamber.

Easy Internal Installation

The Green Killing Machine is designed to sit inside your aquarium, with the pump circulating water through the UV unit. There's no need to drill holes, connect external pipes or install additional plumbing.

The unit can be positioned behind aquarium plants or ornaments if you'd prefer to keep the equipment out of sight.

UV Bulb Replacement

UV bulbs gradually lose their effectiveness with use. The bulb typically lasts around 6–9 months with continuous use, although lifespan can vary and some bulbs may last up to a year.

The Green Killing Machine includes an LED indicator to help let you know when the UV bulb needs replacing, and replacement bulbs are available separately.

Wonderworld Tip

If your aquarium has suddenly turned green, a UV unit can be a very useful tool for getting the water clear again. However, it's still worth looking at why the green water has appeared in the first place, including lighting, nutrients and aquarium maintenance.
