Provides essential heat deep into the body in a safe and natural way as a usable ‘flood’. This allows captive animals to use heat just as they would in the wild, without the risk of overheating associated with tight-beam heat lamps.

Secondly, heat is re-radiated as the stones and decoration used under the basking zone release the heat back upwards, providing belly heat and increasing the ambient temperature.

Infrared-A and Infrared-B provide heat deep within the muscle tissues, warming the animal throughout just as it would in the wild. You can feel this as the warm ‘tingly’ feeling that you experience when you walk out into natural sunlight if you put your hand safely in front of the lamp.

As with all lamps, should be used with a Habistat thermostat. A dimming thermostat will provide accurate control of your thermogradient. You should check the temperature with a suitable quality non-contact laser thermometer.
